Dr. Oksana Ovcharuk

Oksana Ovcharuk, dr. hab., prof., je znanstvenica z več kot 15 let izkušenj na področju usposabljanja učiteljev in oblikovanja učnih načrtov ter več kot 15 let raziskovanja in strokovnega znanja na področju analize izobraževalne politike ter vodja raziskav na področju vključevanja ključnih kompetenc v šolske učne načrte v Ukrajini. Bila je koordinatorka vrste usposabljanj in dejavnosti ozaveščanja učiteljev na področju izobraževanja o demokratičnem državljanstvu in človekovih pravicah v šestih državah vzhodnega partnerstva (Armenija, Azerbajdžan, Belorusija, Gruzija, Moldavija in Ukrajina). Oblikovala je mreže za usposabljanje učiteljev. Sodelovala je pri izvajanju delavnic za razvijalce učnih načrtov in učitelje. Usklajuje in sodeluje v projektih Sveta Evrope, ki se osredotočajo na varstvo človekovih pravic, izobraževanje za demokratično državljanstvo in zaščito jezikov narodnih manjšin v Ukrajini.

Oksana Ovcharuk, Dr. hab., prof., is a scholar and researcher with over 15 years of experience in teacher training and curriculum design, over 15 years of research and expertise in education policy analysis, and a leader in research on the integration of key competences into school curricula in Ukraine. She has coordinated a series of training and awareness-raising activities for teachers in the field of education on democratic citizenship and human rights in six Eastern Partnership countries (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine). It has established teacher training networks. It has participated in the implementation of workshops for curriculum developers and teachers. She coordinates and participates in Council of Europe projects focusing on the protection of human rights, education for democratic citizenship and the protection of languages of national minorities in Ukraine.

Izredna profesorica dr. Sara Brezigar poučuje na dodiplomskem in podiplomskem študiju na Pedagoški fakulteti Univerze na Primorskem in je predsednica upravnega odbora Slovenskega raziskovalnega inštituta (SLORI) v Trstu v Italiji. Na Univerzi v Ljubljani je diplomirala iz mednarodnih odnosov in doktorirala iz etničnih študij, na London School of Economics and Political Science pa je magistrirala iz upravljanja človeških virov. Med letoma 2002 in 2020 je kot raziskovalka na Inštitutu za etnične študije sodelovala pri številnih mednarodnih raziskovalnih projektih, predvsem na področju narodnih in jezikovnih manjšin ter diskriminacije na delovnem mestu. Leta 2008 je postala urednica in leto pozneje glavna urednica (do leta 2020) znanstvene revije Treatises and Documents, Journal of Ethnic Studies. Med letoma 2009 in 2013 je bila edina slovenska predstavnica v mreži socialno-ekonomskih strokovnjakov za diskriminacijo (mreža SEN), ki jo je ustanovila Evropska komisija. Ministrstvo za zunanje zadeve Republike Slovenije jo je leta 2017 (in ponovno leta 2023) uvrstilo na seznam strokovnjakov za moskovski mehanizem OVSE. Je soustanoviteljica podjetja za usposabljanje in izobraževalnega portala o mehkih veščinah ter članica svetovalnega odbora Mednarodne šole Ljubljana (LISSA). V zadnjih letih se raziskovalno ukvarja predvsem z vprašanji, povezanimi z delovanjem slovenske manjšine v Italiji, in sicer na področjih sociolingvistike, izobraževanja in človeških virov. Na slednjem področju jo zanimajo tudi kompetence, potrebne za delovanje v sodobni družbi.

Associate Professor Dr. Sara Brezigar teaches undergraduate and postgraduate programs at the Faculty of Education at the University of Primorska and serves as the President of the Board of Directors of the Slovenian Research Institute (SLORI) in Trieste, Italy. She obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations and her doctorate in Ethnic Studies from the University of Ljubljana, and she earned her Master’s degree in Human Resource Management from the London School of Economics and Political Science. From 2002 to 2020, she participated in numerous international research projects as a researcher at the Institute for Ethnic Studies, primarily focusing on national and linguistic minorities and workplace discrimination. In 2008, she became the Editor and a year later the Editor-in-Chief (until 2020) of the scientific journal Treatises and Documents, Journal of Ethnic Studies. From 2009 to 2013, she was the only Slovenian representative in the network of socio-economic experts on discrimination (SEN network), established by the European Commission. In 2017 (and again in 2023), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia included her on the list of experts for the OSCE Moscow Mechanism. She is the co-founder of a training company and an educational portal on soft skills and a member of the advisory board of the Ljubljana International School (LISSA). In recent years, her research has primarily focused on issues related to the functioning of the Slovenian minority in Italy in the fields of sociolinguistics, education, and human resources. In this latter area, she is also interested in competences needed for functioning in a modern society.

Dániel Z. Kádár (MAE, D.Litt, FHEA, PhD) je redni član Academia Europaea, profesor na katedri, doktorski mentor in direktor Centra za raziskovanje pragmatike na Univerzi za tuje jezike v Dalianu na Kitajskem, raziskovalni profesor na Madžarskem raziskovalnem centru za jezikoslovje HUN-REN in profesor angleškega jezikoslovja na Univerzi v Mariboru. Je avtor številnih knjig, ki so izšle pri mednarodno uveljavljenih založbah, kot je Cambridge University Press. Je sourednik knjige Contrastive Pragmatics: A Cross-Disciplinary Journal. Raziskovalno se ukvarja s pragmatiko, uporabnim jezikoslovjem, učenjem in poučevanjem tujih jezikov, kitajskim jezikoslovjem, raziskovanjem jezikovne vljudnosti ter jezikom in politiko.

Dániel Z. Kádár (MAE, D.Litt, FHEA, PhD) is Ordinary Member of Academia Europaea, Chair Professor, PhD Supervisor and Director of the Centre for Pragmatics Research at Dalian University of Foreign Languages, China, Research Professor at the HUN-REN Hungarian Research Centre for Linguistics, and Professor of English Linguistics at the University of Maribor. He is author of many books, published with publishing houses of international standing such as Cambridge University Press. He is co-editor of Contrastive Pragmatics: A Cross-Disciplinary Journal. His research interests include pragmatics, applied linguistics, foreign language learning and teaching, Chinese linguistics, linguistic politeness research and language and politics.

Dr. Marina Sbisà

Marina Sbisà, višja znanstvenica in nekdanja profesorica filozofije in teorije jezikov na Univerzi v Trstu, je raziskovala filozofijo navadnega jezika (Wittgenstein, Austin, Grice), teorijo govornih dejanj, predpostavke in druge vrste implicitnosti ter področje analize diskurza in študij spolov. Z J. O. Urmsonom je sodelovala pri 2. popravljeni izdaji knjige J. L. Austin, How to Do Things with Words (1975). Objavljala je članke in poglavja v italijanščini in angleščini. Med njenimi knjigami so Linguaggio, ragione, interazione (“Jezik, razlog, interakcija”), Il Mulino, Bologna 1989, 2. izdaja kot e-knjiga, EUT, Trst 2009; Detto non detto (“Povedano ni povedano”), Laterza, Roma-Bari 2007; Essays on Speech Acts and Other Topics in Pragmatics, Oxford University Press 2023. Njen zbornik Austinian Themes. Illocution, Action, Knowledge, Truth, and Philosophy, Oxford University Press 2024. Je predsednica združenja SWIP Italia (Italijansko združenje za ženske v filozofiji) in Mednarodnega združenja za pragmatiko.

Marina Sbisà, Senior Scholar and formerly Professor of Philosophy and Theory of Languages at the University of Trieste, has done research on ordinary language philosophy (Wittgenstein, Austin, Grice), on speech act theory, presupposition and other kinds of implicitness, and in the fields of discourse analysis and gender studies. She collaborated with J.O. Urmson on the 2nd revised edition of J. L. Austin, How to Do Things with Words (1975). She published articles and chapters in Italian and English. Her books include Linguaggio, ragione, interazione (‘Language, Reason, Interaction’), Il Mulino, Bologna 1989, 2nd ed. as an ebook, EUT, Trieste 2009; Detto non detto (‘Said Not Said’), Laterza, Roma-Bari 2007; Essays on Speech Acts and Other Topics in Pragmatics, Oxford University Press 2023. Her volume Austinian Themes. Illocution, Action, Knowledge, Truth, and Philosophy, Oxford University Press 2024,is forthcoming. She is President of SWIP Italia (Italian Society for Women in Philosophy) and of the International Pragmatics Association.

Dr. Paolo Labinaz

Paolo Labinaz je izredni profesor na Oddelku za humanistične študije Univerze v Trstu. Na dodiplomski, magistrski in podiplomski ravni poučuje predmete s področja analitične filozofije jezika, pragmatike jezika in semiotike. Njegova glavna raziskovalna področja so filozofija jezika, teorija argumentacije in filozofija kognitivne znanosti. Posebej raziskuje teme, povezane s teorijo govornih dejanj in njeno uporabo na različnih področjih, kot sta spletno komuniciranje in komuniciranje v zdravstvu, ter razmerje med utemeljevanjem in argumentacijo. Je avtor zvezkov “La razionalità” [Racionalnost] (Carocci, 2013) in “L’asserzione come azione linguistica: aspetti epistemici, cognitivi e sociali” [Trditev kot govorno dejanje: epistemični, kognitivni in družbeni vidiki] (EUT, 2019) in objavil je številne članke v domačih in mednarodnih revijah ter uredniških zbornikih. Poleg tega je skupaj z Bianco Cepollaro in Nerijem Marsilijem uredil posebne številke revij, kot sta “Assertion and its Social Significance” (Rivista Italiana di Filosofia del Linguaggio, 2019), in zvezek “Sbisà on Speech as Action” (Palgrave MacMillan, 2023) skupaj z Lauro Caponetto.

Paolo Labinaz is an Associate Professor at the Department of Humanities Studies at the University of Trieste. He teaches courses delving into analytic philosophy of language, pragmatics of language, and semiotics at the undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate levels. His primary research areas include the philosophy of language, argumentation theory, and the philosophy of cognitive science. Specifically, he explores topics related to speech act theory and its applications in various fields such as online communication and health communication, as well as the relationship between reasoning and argumentation. He is the author of the volumes “La razionalità” [Rationality] (Carocci, 2013) and “L’asserzione come azione linguistica: aspetti epistemici, cognitivi e sociali” [Assertion as a Speech Action: Epistemic, Cognitive and Social Aspects] (EUT, 2019), and has published numerous articles in national and international journals and edited volumes. Furthermore, he has edited special issues of journals such as “Assertion and its Social Significance” (Rivista Italiana di Filosofia del Linguaggio, 2019), together with Bianca Cepollaro and Neri Marsili, and the volume “Sbisà on Speech as Action” (Palgrave MacMillan, 2023), together with Laura Caponetto.

Dr. Lucija Čok

ZRS Koper (Slovenia)

Lucija Čok je doktorica pedagoških ved, znanstvena svetnica večjezičnosti in medkulturnosti na Znanstveno-raziskovalnem središču Koper, zaslužna profesorica Univerze na Primorskem. Kot raziskovalka se posveča vidikom psiholingvistike, sociolingvistike in didaktike jezikov. Vodila je nacionalne in mednarodne projekte, sodelovala z različnimi evropskimi univerzami in s svojimi izkušnjami prispevala k pripravi evropskih in nacionalnih jezikovnih strategij. Rezultati njenih raziskav so objavljeni v več jezikih; v njenih raziskavah  zgodnjega poučevanja jezikov in v  različnih učnih gradivih se odražajo njene pedagoške izkušnje; v različnih publikacijah je predstavila  izobraževalne strategije in modele na področju jezikovnega in kulturnega stika. V vlogi univerzitetne profesorice in raziskovalke opredeljuje različne razsežnosti sobivanja na območju združene Evrope in utemeljuje specifike večkulturnega ozemlja Istre. Prejela je več priznanj (državna nagrada za življenjsko delo na področju izobraževanja, 2013) in tujih odlikovanj, med drugim Commendatore dell’Ordine della Stella della Solidarietà Italiana predsednika Italijanske republike (2005) in Chevalier de l’Ordre de la Légion d’Honneur predsednika Republike Francije (2006) za promocijo jezikovne različnosti.

Lucija Čok holds a doctorate in educational science, is a principal research associate in the field of multilingualism and intercultural education at the Science and Research Centre in Koper and professor emeritus at the University of Primorska. As a researcher, she specialises in aspects of psycholinguistics, sociolinguistics and language didactics. She has coordinated national and international projects, collaborated with various European universities and contributed her experience to the development of European and national language strategies. The results of her research have been published in several languages; her research on early language teaching and various teaching materials reflect her experience as an educator; her various publications present educational strategies and models in the areas of language and cultural contact. In her role as a university professor and researcher, she is committed to identifying the various dimensions of coexistence in a united Europe and defining the specificities of the multicultural territory of Istria. She has been honoured with several national (Lifetime Achievement Award for Education, 2013) and foreign awards, including Commendatore dell’Ordine della Stella della Solidarietà Italiana by the President of the Italian Republic (2005) and The National Order of the Legion of Honour by the President of the Republic of France (2006) for the promotion of linguistic diversity. 

Dr. Liselott Forsman

Åbo Akademi University (Finland)

Liselott Forsman je doktorica jezikovne didaktike s specializacijo iz medkulturne vzgoje na Fakulteti za izobraževanje in socialne študije Univerze Åbo Akademi na Finskem, kjer dela tudi kot univerzitetna predavateljica za večjezično didaktiko. V letih 2015–2019 je bila redna profesorica za didaktiko tujih jezikov, vključno z večjezičnostjo, na Univerzi Åbo Akademi. Trenutno predava in vodi diplomska dela predvsem na področjih didaktike tujih jezikov, izobraževanja o raznolikosti in izobraževanja s švedsko imerzijo. Njena nekdanja aktivnost je tudi vodenje mednarodnih magistrskih študentov izobraževanja na univerzi Åbo Akademi ter predavanje o družbeni večjezičnosti in medkulturni kompetenci na področju zdravstvenih ved. Dr. Forsman je v okviru doktorata iz poučevanja angleščine kot tujega jezika raziskovala razvoj medkulturne kompetence pri najstnikih v okviru pouka angleščine, kar je izvedla kot akcijsko raziskavo v svoji praksi. Od takrat je veliko delala tudi na področju strokovnega izpopolnjevanja, pri čemer se je osredotočala na različne teme, kot so izobraževanje za angleščino, medkulturna kompetenca in različni vidiki večjezičnosti, vključno z objavo več priročnikov za nacionalne potrebe učiteljev. Med raziskovalnimi in razvojnimi projekti jih je bilo več izvedenih kot celostni šolski akcijski raziskovalni projekti, namenjeni spodbujanju jezika v celotnem učnem načrtu. Najnovejše partnerstvo med univerzo in šolo se nanaša na razvoj didaktike za medpredmetno poučevanje, projekt, ki vključuje tudi nedavno izdajo mednarodnega priročnika pri založbi Routledge. V svojem pisanju je raziskovala različne teme, kot so oblikovanje večjezične in večkulturne identitete, soustvarjanje pouka za vključevanje učencev drugega jezika z razvijanjem pismenosti skozi kurikulum, izkušnje najstnikov z jezikovno ozaveščenim soustvarjanjem pouka, izkušnje študentov učiteljev z akcijskimi raziskovalnimi projekti v okviru izobraževanja učiteljev in prakse za opolnomočenje učiteljev za trajnostni strokovni razvoj.

Liselott Forsman holds the title of Docent in language didactics with specialization in intercultural education at the Faculty of Education and Welfare Studies, Åbo Akademi University, Finland, where she also works as a university lecturer in multilingual didactics. During 2015–2019 she was a tenured professor in foreign language didactics including multilingualism at Åbo Akademi University. She currently lectures and supervises thesis work mainly in the fields of foreign language didactics, diversity education, and Swedish immersion education. Recent delights include supervising international master students in education at Åbo Akademi University and lecturing on societal multilingualism and intercultural competence in the health sciences. Dr. Forsman’s PhD in the education of English as a foreign language explored the development of intercultural competence in the English language classroom with teenage students, conducted as action research into her own practice. She has since then also worked extensively in in-service professional development, focusing diverse topics such as EFL education, intercultural competence and different aspects of multilingualism, including the publication of several handbooks for national teacher needs. Among research and development projects, several have been conducted as whole-school action research projects aimed at promoting language across the curriculum. The most recent university-school partnership concerns developing didactics for cross-curricular teaching, a project which includes the recent publishing of an international handbook with Routledge. In her writing she has explored diverse topics such as multilingual and multicultural identity construction, co-teaching for the inclusion of second-language students through literacy development across the curriculum, teenage students’ experiences of language aware co-teaching, student teachers’ experiences of action research-based projects within pre-service teacher education, and empowering practices for teachers’ sustainable continuing professional development.
